I have 7 chickens who are approaching egg-laying age. Well sort of --they are 16 weeks -- I probably have another month or so... but I am so excited to see that first egg!!

Not to count my eggs before they are laid but... I am curious about how many to expect a week. I read all the averages on these chickens but wanted to know if any of you have any of these breeds and can tell me what you get a week! Thanks!!

Silver-laced Wyandotte (I think she'll lay first -- she is very red in the face and big)
Black Australorp
Dominique
Campine
EE
Standard Partridge Cochin
Bantam Sizzle

Maybe Henderson's will help; I don't know any of those breeds except Australorp, and mine lays at least 6 eggs a week, sometimes 7.

Note that the number of eggs drawn for each breed is supposed to be an average number per week for that breed. Can't really vouch for how accurate it is, though.

We have 2 Black Australorps who just started laying about two weeks ago. So far I'd say they are averaging about 5 eggs per week.

I looked at that chart referenced above and it says Araucanas average two per week....I'm glad ours didn't read it because she has laid the past 9 days straight as a new layer!

We really are thinking she is mixed, though, cause her eggs are more of a dark greenish color as opposed to light blue or blue-green. So she may actually be considered an EE.
