Getting geese tomorrow!!

Do you cut out the milk jug for the feeder like you do for the waterer? How high up on the sides do you cut the holes?

I wish I could go myself tomorrow or the next day, but it's 100 miles away and can't afford the fuel or the extra time away from home. The people I would ask to pick up the geese would know what to look for health wise. I wouldn't ask someone who has no idea what they are looking at!! I know a few of those people too!!!

Do you have any pics of your milk jug idea?? That seems like a really good idea! And budget friendly!!

Thanks so much for the advice!!

Lay the thing on it's side, and put the holes about halfway up.
The idea is to keep them out of their water, so don't cut a long single hole.

Try to make them really small at first, then enlarge them as they need them enlarged.

I'll try to find pictures, there's been a couple posts with them recently.

Here's an idea.

But keep in mind that soda bottles are ROUND and as such like to ROLL.

I love that idea!!! I'm totally going to use it! I don't buy half gallons, but we go through a ton of milk! I have a friend that will probably save her jugs too. Even the gallon jugs will work out.

Do you keep moving the holes further up the side as they grow? We don't buy sodas either, so milk jugs it is!!

When they got older I used gallon jugs, so I wouldn't think it'd be bad to use them when they're young.

Yes, just keep making them holes farther up and then you'll have more water in there too!

Lol, I might have to try and talk my dad into getting a goose baby for my goose... And hope it turns into a Gander. Lol, she's lonely.
