He is Bucky...Acts like a Buck but a wether. What’s wrong with his behavior?
Just read the whole info about the buckones....two weeks is extremely young for whoever was talking about their wether being banded. We just bought the tool to do our new little guys. We are waiting until 8 weeks. Yesterday we had them all disbudded....necessary evil. Not necessary...but..definitely evil. But, they are fine now, just have terrible haircuts. What’s wrong with his behavior?
Always was that way. It just looks bigger when he stands on his hind legs.Love his markings the belly band is so cute but
lost half it
So, are they free range? Our original two are. The new ones we just bought are not at our farm, because it is too big. They were at their old farm, and went to the neighbors and got into trouble. I’m hoping in the spring, they can learn from my others. I’m also hoping that my original two will teach our kids to be free range. We’ve decided to keep all 5. They are just too cute to part with. But, next kidding season I’ve promised to sell some. ??? It’s soooo hard to imagine selling after you e birthed them!! You just wait!!
Yep I have to try all avenues before I know I've failed with him. I cried my eyes out yesterday thinking of Ozzy having to be put down or giving him away and someone not treating him good..I would get the other goats Shannon. Either his behavior will improve or not. This way Fancy bonds with new goats if you need to remove Ozzie.
I agree banding at 2 weeks is way too young as the testicles don't always descend until 8 weeks. That's when we would band ours, just before weaning. They also should get a tetanus vaccine before banding.
Thanks and I'll keep everyone informed about tomorrow's visit and what he thinks I should do?I definitely understand the position you are in.![]()
