Did you burn them off with a burning iron? When i was dehorning my kids i was told that when the buds fall off they do bleed, but to not put anything on it..Good morning everyone! We are in the midst of a blizzard here! Ugh... so, I don’t Think I’ll be walkin* goats today. The debudding didn’t take on a few of the kids, so I ordered my own iron. Now we are goin* to redo it next week! Ugh! I feel so bad for these guys! Plus, little Willy bumped his bud off last night and it was all bloody. I put peroxide on it. But I learned to put cornstarch on it and get blood stop at TS. They are itching them. I’m sure they are Bothering * them as are growing out and scabby. Well...have a great day 3veryone!View attachment 2037553View attachment 2037554View attachment 2037555View attachment 2037556
It was also my first time dehorning them and we waited a little too long to do the bucks and ended up burning too deep on his right horn. Must of burned into his nasal canal because there was a lot of buggery/smelly discharge coming from it. Luckily though with some probiotics we managed to keep the infection at bay until it healed. He's much better now but now i'm worried that the burning didn't take?
Here are the kids I dehorned, Thoughts? I'll try and get better pictures of the buck today(Buck is the mostly brown one)
