Getting into selling & breeding

Hey all, i am some what new too breeding chickens and i want to start selling eggs and chicks but i don’t know where to start i am located in mid north coast australia and i am breeding Blue/Gold, Black/Silver and splash barnevelders where would be a good place to start selling eggs i am planning on starting by selling them on facebook in local groups but where would i go from there.

I sell hatching eggs and chicks, but I'm a long way from you, in Wisconsin, USA, so you may have different outlets than we do, and vice versa. As for Facebook, that's where I go. There are about a dozen poultry groups for my state, and a couple of those are more local. You can't put prices there, but I'll post a picture, for instance, of my chicks for sale, and just describe them and say, "If interested, please send message."

You could ask in your Australia groups too if they may have some ideas for you. Australia has two groups here and I don't know if one or both work for you.

Hi Hailie16727, the main places to advertise these days is eggsellent.com.au and Gumtree, Gumtree is free so it doesn't hurt to place some adds on there and a few breeders have told me that eggsellent is getting them a lot more hits than they ever got from any other advertisement.

If you are going to post fertile eggs then look into Eggspress Safe cartons (make sure you write on it which way is up before you post it) and a Sendle account if you are within their service area.
