A friend of mines doe is sick, having seizures and holding its head sideways. Its not worms and the vet says its not worth finding out whats wrong...so...

Her two doe kids (about 10 wks old) are going to come live with us (since their mom is NOT doing good at all)and join our growing menagerie.

Now do I need to bottle feed these girls or will they be ok on goat chow? or should I mix milk replacer in the food dry?

What else do I need to know and do??
Does anyone think the kids will be sick from whatever the doe has?

THANKS
Dena

10 weeks old is plenty old enough to be weaned. Make sure they have hay, water, and goat chow if you feed it, available. Just keep a close eye on them and make sure they are eating and drinking. They will cry and be sad; go out there and spend lots of time with them and they will bond with you.

I'm sorry to hear about the dam. Post pictures of your kiddos when you get them.

tell your friend to look into 'Goat polio' and 'Listeriosis'

I'll betcha any money it is one of the two

the kids will be fine
