First off I live in the middle of the city and I own 4 geese. Neighbours are cool guys and had no problems with this but it's time to move on. I have a friend living in a village nearby and she will gladly take them in.

I did some research and decided that Muscovy ducks are the best to keep in the city. I found answers to most of my questions except:

- Do they get along with chickens? They have separate area but if I were to add the ducklings to the same place as my 18 chickens, what would the result be?

- Are they messy? The geese aren't particulary messy but the place where they sleep and bathe is swampy. Also the grass died and half of the garden is barren land.

- Are they aggressive towards strangers? My geese yell at the top of their lungs and charge at any stranger that dares to enter their garden.

Thanks!

I have had no problems with my Muscovy's being in with the chickens. I have put ducklings after they no longer needed heat in with my chickens and that was fine. As far as being messy I don't think they are too bad. Of course they are ducks and can be messy with water ect. They will eat your garden though. I have found that the ones that I raise myself and handle a lot as ducklings are not aggressive towards people at all. In fact if people come they will come right up to them and "talk" to them. Sometimes the drakes can be a little territorial over the hens. Hope this helps!
