Getting my chicks in one month

Medicated feed is not necessary, but to give them energy boosts we put probiotics and rooster booster in their water. This, again, isn't necessary but we like to give it to them so they don't get weak.

Medicated starter feed is a good preventative for Cocidiosis and I have never had any bad side effects but also I've never seen Cocidiosis in my chickens that are unmediated, it's up to you really and if you want on the safe side just for reassurance I'd do medicated feed, hope that helps, good luck on your chicks!

You can start them if you like. Medicated feed has Amprolium, which is for the prevention/treatment of coccidia, bloody poops, which is usually lethal to chicks if they aren't treated in time. Chickens develop immunity to it when they grow up, they won't get sick from it then. You can give it to them if you want to avoid coccidiosis. When I started my first chicks, I used plain chick feed and had no problems. In the end, it is your choice. Post pics when you get them!

I use Medicated Start & Grow for the first 10 weeks, then when the bag is empty I switch to a Non-Medicated Starter-Grower or a All-Flock/Flock Raiser crumble 18-20% Protein.
The Medicated feed only helps to prevent Coccidiosis, nothing else. GC

I might start them on medicated and switch to non-medicated after they finish the bag. The store I’m buying them from has hundreds of chicks in one brooder. Just trying to be safe with them.
