Hi Everyone!
I just adopted these two adorable ducklings that were being given away. They are approximately a month old. I'll admit, I don't even know what breed they are😳 (they are a palish yellow). I got them last week and was told they love cucumbers and lettuce! So that's what we were feeding them (and other vegetables) until I had a chance to locate a pet store with duck food. We bought some, (read a lot) and they won't touch the stuff! its a dry mix of seeds, corn... Any suggestions on what to do?
Thanks in advanced!

Get an actual ration. Either one made for ducks or an All Flock ration. You can initially try wetting it. Don't feed them anything else. They should eventually eat it. They will starve to death on lettuce and cucumber which are both mostly water.

Well, it sure would help to know your location which is a major pet peeve of mine so we might be able to direct you to a store or web site to get the proper food for your ducks.

It would be helpful if you had your location under your avatar picture.

Simple to do and really helps people help you. Just go to the top right where your "BYC name" is and click. A drop-down menu will take you to “Account Details”. If you put your location there it will always be under your picture.

How Long do you think the process will take. They are slowly coming round to eating it. I soak it for about 10-15 minutes or they won't even look at it. There is something in there that they are picking out but I'm not so sure what it is. Should I try mixing in some fruit or vegetable? It's been a few days. They get really disappointed when i bring them the food/clean their bowl.

Updated! however, i doubt it will help you very much. I went to a very reputable store.

Nope keep it just feed until they are eating really well then you can start back on treats but keep in mind treats are only to be 10% of daily ration. They get over any let down and sure be a lot healthier for it. Pics when you can.
