Okay, my bator is sitting 28 eggs right now and the temp. is 100.6 . Its on day one, how do I get the temp down to 99.5? I have a hovabator genesis 1588. The humidity is 48% is that okay?

Thats not too hot?

The 1588 is preset at the factory. If you don't have a insruction manual, go to www.gqfmfg.com they will have a online manual that you can read.

Yea I had to get it online, thanks. I found how to change the temp. but it didnt say anything about the humidity, or how to raise or lower it. Thats why I was curious.

messing around with the temperature can be time consuming. If you already set the eggs, I would leave it alone.
It took me a full day to try and regulate mine and I just reset two of them back to the factory setting anyway after the temp spiked to 103 and then to 85. It was a nightmare.
I would wait til after everything hatches. That is a fair good temp anyway, you might have them hatch a day early though.

If you want to change the humidity a little pull out the red plug. It will change it about 5%. Put it back in when you go into lock down.

No plug as shown in the photo just to the right of the fan?

Edited to say: Not the forced air model?
