Getting new parakeet but am really worried

I’m sorry for all the questions but I’m still new with owning parakeets! My parakeet is eating it only seed diet right now, but I want to make sure I’m feeding him a healthy diet! What do you feed yours?

I would suggest offering them vegetables still. Budgies can still have seeds in their diet, but it shouldn't be their whole diet. I don't give any of my parrots seeds in their daily diet, I give them a veggie mix for breakfast and pellets in the evening. One other benefit of withholding seeds, particularly ones like sunflower seeds, is that your parrot will generally work harder for that seed if they're not offered it daily.

You can find ways to make vegetables more interesting to eat. My parrots love getting their veggies. I chop them all up finely and mix it together, it makes it look really exciting for them.

I bred a few around 30 years ago. I really enjoyed it and ended up with really tame budgies because I handled the babies daily as they grew.

Sprouted seeds will help bring them into breeding condition, and are great nutrition for the chicks.
Can I start trying to get my new budgie use to me has soon has he gets here or do I have to wait the “ two weeks” like ever says too?! I think that’s what may have went wrong with mine I have now! I feel like I waited too long! She is not very tame but I’m still trying to tame her lol!

My parrot has never been fed sunflower seeds so she has no idea what they are and won't touch them. My parrot had her own opinions on what she wants and doesn't want. :)

I never waited. It does depend on the individual temperament, but in general those first few weeks the budgie is unsure about everything new, so you handling them I think would be easier.

Once they feel more comfortable, they are more likely to start to become territorial about their cages. So working on them early should set up better habits.

I interact with my parrots as soon as I get them. They are moving to a new environment which can be daunting for them, so meeting you first and seeing that you are safe even though everything else is scary can actually help with the transition.
