Is there a way to get an email on post updates. What i mean is that when i make a post, i would like to have a quicker way to get notified that someone is commenting on my post. The way i do it now is i go to "Profile" and the "Show all recent POsts" and then i have to scroll throught them and yada yada yada. IS there a way to have a notification sent to my email or something like that saying "Hey so and so is comenting back, or do i have to do it manually like this every time? It would be very convienient to have an email notification and then be sent right to what it is that they are commenting on. THere has got to be a way. Thanks

I think if you subscribe to a thread you get the updates but I'm not for sure.

Sorry guys, im not sure what that is? I think i understand the idea but how do i do that? Do i have to do that everytime i make a post, what's the skinny there? Thnaks

If you wanna check quickly, on the index page, scroll down to the bottom. You should have four options. One says "show your posts" you can click on it, and any post that you have made that someone has responded to will show up at the top of the list in bold print.

To subscribe to a topic, all you have to do is click on the blue underlined link under the page count.

V under this post, look at the page count. If you wanted to subscribe to this topic, you would click the underlined wording that says "subscribe to this topic".

When you scroll to the bottom of a thread, there is a subscribe to this topic button. Click on this.
I believe it is supposed to send you an email when someone posts a new post on that thread. I found when I've subscribed to threads that I get an email for every new post. I don't like getting flooded with emails so I rarely use subscribe.
You can also scroll to the bottom of the recent posts page and click on show your posts that will show the threads that you have posted on. The bolded ones are the ones with new posts.

Yeah getting an email about every NEW post would not be what im looking for. I currently do the "scroll down, show new posts" method but it just seems a bit tedious, like there should be a better way, and also when i do this i have to remember how many replies there was before or ill be opening the same post to find no new comments. Or having severl posts with several pages of posts can get even more complicated. Like lets say that after a month, a person adds a really important comment to one of my questions, i'd have to go back through all those pages of posts and check on that specific one? Seems a bit low tech no? I would like to see in my email inbox, something like" Hey purosaviparos, so and so commented on your post aobut _____" that way i know what its about. You know what i mean? Because as i noob I have posted many times about several doubts that i have and going back throguh each one is lame and time consuming. Tech support where are you?

Subscribing to the topic seems to be what you are looking for, it will send you an e-mail saying whoever posted on your topic about "??whatever??" Or maybe I am not understanding the questions,

Yeah, I use the show your posts button. I haven't used subscribe in years so maybe it's different now. I thought it was a quirk of mine that I got so many emails.
