Hey guys I am think about getting quail and would love some tips on anything and one major question is once they are old enough can i switch them to this that I feed my chickens type feed and supplement extra protein or should I stick with buying two different types of feed here is what I use currently

I am completely new to quail and I am planning to build my own coops for them is this a good investment
Should i buy baby quail or eggs and use a incubator to hatch them myself and if you have any cheap lik under 50 dollar incubator recommendations please let me know i would love to get one but working a budget

Thanks,showchick

You should read @Nabiki's article here about quail nutrition as that will help you decide: https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/what-to-feed-your-quail.79205/

Also, here are the Quail Articles in the Learning Center. There are tons of them written by our members who raise quail.

Most I know that own quail started with eggs. I guess it depends if you have a source for them or live quail. I don't know about incubators around $50, so I'd just go off ratings on Amazon.
Thanks I will definitely read into it
