Getting ready for chickens

Ive been raising zebra finches and lovebirds for years. a year ago I got Coturnix Quail and no eggs. I suspect that theyre all males. Now Im ready for the real deal - chickens! im hoping to find some coop ready hens locally, so that i dont have to go through the whole incubator thing. (did that with button quail years ago - lots of extra work.) But i wonder if they will bond with me if I havent raised them from chickhood?

Welcome to the forum! If you dont like hatching eggs from an incubator, you could get young chicks from hatcheries.Glad to have you

Birds can be standoffish till they lay, Farm stores carry young pullets also.

Welcome. My flock, which is my first flock, has been together since day 2, so I don’t have experience regarding bonding when older. However my sister received her chickens at 3-4 months old and hers bond with her as well as mine do, even though I spend a lot more time with my flock.
