getting ready to be new chicken "Parents"

I'm getting a Brahma a Wyandotte and a Sussex. We've decided on more laid (pardon) back breeds because we are integrating them into a family of dogs and feel we will have more success 'if we can all just get along'.
Do you have any particular type of varmint that may bother your girls?

Chicks arenʻt mammals. They are much more independent from birth. I use a 5lb feeder in my brooder and just change the 1 gallon waterer every day. The chicks (50 or so) are happy and my time investment is limited to about 20 minutes tops per day. Now cleaning out the litter every week is another problem!
