35 eggs are set! The fellow I buy my eggs from gave me 6 extras since the last hatch wasn't very good but one cracked. (I think my husband is having heart palpitations at the prospect of having 35 more birds to care for over the winter.) The incubator is holding at 99.5 and humidity seems to be holding between 55 and 60 percent, so I'm hopeful that the problems that I had last time are rectified now that I've modified the vents. These eggs appear to be much better as well. I can't explain it, but they look healthier, if that makes sense.
I opted to pass on the egg turner for now. Next year I hope to invest in a better incubator (using a homemade one now) and I really don't plan to do any more hatches this season after these are done, so that can wait a while.
