getting ready to lay eggs?

My hens are over 4 months old now, and I've noticed their poop is somewhat egg-shaped and size and covered in bloom. Does this mean they will start laying eggs soon? My hubby is getting anxious to enjoy the fruits of his generosity in letting me have chickens. I've ALWAYS wanted to raise chickens , and after 25 years of marriage, (and now living in the country) DH finally agreed.

Some of your girls should be laying eggs for you in maybe less than a month.
But - do you own a penguin?!? I was looking at your pictures and my 2 teens thought the same thing!
Or are you just a playing with us?

There definately seems to be a penquin in your chicken coop....

I love penguins and my husband thought that would be funny. I don't own a penguin, though I wish I did. Anyone out there know where to get them?
