I am going to get shipped eggs when they are 8 days old. I read you should let them sit for 24 hours, is 9 days to old to let them sit? Some people say 10 day... is that ok?

I'd still let them sit at least 12 hours...then if you want to move into the incubator without turning for another 12 hours or more, until the air cells are solid, that may help.

I let mine sit anywhere from 12-24 hours before putting them in the 'bator. Then, I don't turn them for a few days once they're in.
This is only my second batch of shipped eggs, and man are they nerve wracking! My own eggs are bad enough! Good luck with yours!

It depends on how shaken the eggs are. I set 70 shipped eggs so far, about a dozen had loose or saddle air cells. I let them rest 12 hours then set them, I haven't had any trouble with the air cells in my auto turner but the first hatch doesn't start until Saturday.
