Getting started

The duck pond a 1x2x6 stock tank, and the hard ware cloth came in today. Got 3/4 of the apron up before getting rained out. It was 101 when it started raining so it tryed to work though it. The cooling rain was kind of refreshing but then the lightning started. Hoping to have the girls out in the next day or two.

I'm from West Texas also. But I live in one of the larger cities in the area. I'm trying to get started with raising backyard chickens, it's been many many years since I've been around chickens, so everything seems new to me. I'm just starting to prepare the area we've chosen for our coop. I have to relocate some bushes along with a couple of rose bushes and a hydrangea bush to other areas of the yard. My 5yr old grandson and myself had to cut down a small tree this afternoon when it started pouring on us. Good luck!! It's nice to see another someone from West Texas on here!!

If you're near Midland, they are having a couple of trade days coming up. I know a couple people who have nice chicks for sale. Also, check out FB page, West Texas Chickens. Enjoy your chickens!! :)

Can you add me the the Facebook group I requested to join.

Got more work done today. The clouds and lower temperatures were a big help. Apron done, 2/3 of the top fence up.
