getting the ducks on water

I read something the other day that says in the first weekish not to let the ducks get into water that is too deep or whatever because they're not fully able to swim and support themselves when they're new. Not sure if this is true or not. Ive had water available for them obviously but nothing too deep. When does everyone think would be best to introduce something like a kiddie pool for them? These are my first ducks and am still learning. Thank you!

mine swim at 2 days old in the sink by day 5 they are in the tub. not filled uo all the way of course though just enough to float.

Mine were 3 days old when I put them in a warm tub but I supervised them. Now they are entering 5 weeks but I won't put them in a kiddie pool. they aren't fully feathered yet so they still get swim time in the tub. Once they are fully feathered out and I can see they are oiling their feathers then I will let them play in the water trough.
