we are getting 12 to 15 Muscovy eggs per day. tomorrow we will start consuming scrambled duck eggs

Sounds like you're attracting pretty decent applicants at least.

yes we are getting good applicants. we have 2 more applicants tomorrow. they are from a bigger college and actually applied using email. one is local and the other is from kabankalan.

I will conduct interviews until Thursday.

E-mail applications are a good sign, means that they're at least slightly tech savvy, that would help your remote monitoring. I hope you find someone who's a good fit.

jet lag is a tough on me this trip. I normally manage a 30 minute snooze at lunch time that replenishes me but have yet to be successful at finding the time.

I have to be up and at it before 6 as I need to who Ariel into shape. his productivity is lacking. he finds all sorts of excuses to not complete the tasks. I hope I can get him into a routine in the next week or he will be gone.

Mrs Oz is off to Kabankalan this morning to collect payments from remittance companies for chicken orders. She will then pick up the Nenz and bring her as well as her entourage to the beach house.

the "panday" is off this week. it's actually a blessing not to deal with him. I will be able to cope better next week.

I still have one sow to sell. I am happy with the progress of the rest. our piglets-turned-growers are impressively gaining body weight. the smaller 2 will be sent to market at 200lbs. the larger three will be kept as breeding gilts.

the second week in may should be a busy time with piglets.

so apart from prodding Ariel, interviewing two candidates and hosting the Nenz, I hope to teach Dodong how to seed quail. we also have to make a modification to one of he pig pens.

we are in full swing!

I'm hatching 21 eggs, and they are on day 6, I've hatched chicken eggs for about 5 years in a row now and Ive become quite good at candelling, but it looks like they have developed veins, ( a lot of them have),around the air sac but it looks like there I a blackish sort of area, that moves around, what does this mean, are they all dead ?

Probably just the embryo with its large (melaninated) eye that you are seeing.

its a breezy day here today. at 8am my data logger recorded 28C and 73% humidity

I put the data logger in the incubator to check temps and humidity. it will take up to 20000 recordings.

when I am fine I will be able to see how often they open the incubator to turn eggs.

the third candidate is arriving soon.

my biggest problem right now is a bruised coccyx from traveling. lol
