Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

hi bama

hold the press. I need to add the word ME after the "pulled over for"

I was the one that caused her ticket.

thanks for the lectures on safety.

I see it as a good lesson for the kids as even daddies have to obey the law.

the point of the post was to give an example of how things work over here rather than embarrass my wife with a typo

I am the one the notoriously forgets my seatbelt where she is very safety conscious.

mick

the next piglets will not be born until may 4 - 8

pig 4 is Duroc/pietrains sire is large white/Duroc
pig 2 is ladrace sire is Hampshire/pietrains
pig 3 is landrace sire is pie trains

I aim to wean at 7.5kg/28 days and sell for 2500

I will keep the biggest female and 2 males from pig 4 and a male and female from pigs 2+3.

any smaller than 7kg o pigs I don't sell cheap as I keep for family lechon

most of the keepes get sold at 85kg but I want a track record of my growers.

just when things are going smoothly...

yesterday we moved 159 eggs into the hatcherbator.

This morning we had 79 dead chicks and 40 dead pippers

the incu-right thermostat crapped out and we baked all of this week's hatch. it was sickening.

I have to inform several. customers that we won't be shipping day olds.

I normally use the proven STC 1000 but like the heater unit from my the manufacturer.

lesson learned. We just spent all day replacing and testing the stc 1000 and its working like a charm. the water wiggler with a temp probe in it heated up to 99.5 and stayed there.

the good news is we have a record setting today. that will help me with the orders.

I have been approached by several people that want to franchise or distribute for the cocopoultry line

all our social media and web presence is paying off.
