Welcome back Sally!
I prefer the "Loxit" clip/ring, here is a site where both are available:

this little tool is priceless for working with wire either welded wire fencing or field fence...
you hook the tool over a cross wire and swing the cut wire under the tab.... then you rotate the whole thing around and around till the wire is fastened. i like it because you dont have to do hog clips or wires.

That tool is simplicity at its best, my problem is..........

I've had goats; I suspect they'd do a good job on blackberries. I know I fenced off a couple areas of whatever had grown up wild & it did take them long to get it down to nothing but orchardgrass; need to do it again. I've tethered goats out in knee-deep grass and watched them work on honeysuckle that had overtaken an old fence row.I have had blackberry and I have has goats but not at the same time.
Goats pick at anything though so I would not be surprised.

I have a cousin that tethers her goats to a big tractor tire.... she puts the water tub in the middle of the tire to keep it protected from being tipped over and to help anchor the tire. To move the goat she just rolls the tire to the new location and re inserts the water tub.
You cannot do this without good fencing around to protect them from dogs though.

The guy w/the wedding ring on his right hand....is that a pair of clippers in his hand? Can't imagine what he'd be clipping, except perhaps beaks
