Mozza came into estrus for the first time today.
So if I plan to AI her with riverine Buffalo (dairy type) it will be 5 more years till her female calf (if it is a heifer) has her own calf and then it's able to be milked.
Right now I could get $500 for her. In a year with a calf she will be worth $700. A riverine Buffalo cow that is pregnant can be had for $1000.
On a purely math assessment, is time to sell her off and buy the riverine girl in two years when our dairy is established.
