Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

A little bit of a change of subject. Oz, I have two Visayan hens that I purchased locally. One is about 1 year old and the other about 5 months old. The young one layed her first egg today. I know the first one is usually small but, hers is ridiculously small. My thumb is the size of the egg. I will post a pick tomorrow or the next day. And you can tell me what you think. Being that small I am wondering if that is completely normal/

Totally normal, smallest fart egg I've gotten has been 11g I think.

I'd say it's probably better for the girl to start small and build up the size. One of our birds started with a 70g double yolker, that must not have been a fun way to begin laying.
