Getting the flock out of here phase III is well underway.
I will be taking a combination of local and shipped eggs.
I am determined to give them a fighting chance.
I have prewired the STC-1000 thermostats and tested them here in the USA. I will replace all mechanical thermostats on my incubators in the Philippines.
I have dehumidifiers to decrease humidity as well a scale and candling LED flashlight to monitor the eggs.
My flight leaves on Thursday May 23. I arrive Friday May 25 and will set the eggs on May 26 (it will actually be May 25 in USA). I should not have any eggs more than 7 days old. most of the local eggs will be 4-5 days old.
I plan to leave a control sample here in USA - 12 shipped eggs and 12 locals that I can compare hatch rates against.
I have an interesting "honey do" job while I am there. Because of the adoption, we are required to reside for 6 months in Cavite near Manila. I am tasked with driving the car solo across 4 islands and 3 ferries. I have to leave on Tuesday May 28 in order to get to Cavite on the evening of May 29, in time for my daughter's birthday on May 30.
I will cruise past Piglett's wife's family's island. I will take lots of pics.
The adventure continues.
