The eggs we had Bernie set from the original hatch have candled well. There are about 50 eggs that were set in 3 batches. The first one will hatch Friday do I should see the new generation. This is a huge milestone in the grand scheme. Its also a great control experiment on non shipped eggs.

Need to keep in mind that eggs laid in one environment may be more able to hatch in it as eggs will be optimized for it, so added advantage to home grown eggs. Even changing elevation/ oxygen levels changes gene expression in developing embryos and influence ability to hatch.

Bit like a broody is able to optimize her incubation despite external environment.
