Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

Indeed! Got to love those kind of hatches!
the tiny little buggers wont sit still. so far we have all XLD jumbo coturnix out. A shipment of 100 Texas A&M got lost in the mail so I only have a few in there that were pushing 14 days of age when they were set.

either way, I will take what I get and hope its a good sign for the gallus domesticus

Its a good sign when I ask Berie how many quail have hatched and he says he cant count them.

current estimate is 40 hatched with the same again pipping.

this will be a good test to see how the dehumidifier helped reduce the size of the normally swollen chicks. the number that pip but dont get out of the shells is normally way too high for my liking.

Great news on the on-going hatch, Oz!!! Sounds like the dehumidifier is earning its keep! I know Bernie must be thrilled, too.

Bernie went to bed with 70 hatched. It may hit 80 by morning.

They got a 1/4 pack of gro gel in the hatcher.

Bernie has mixed up the quail starter feed so by tomorrow the brooder room should be getting noisy
