Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

Funny you should mention it......

Mrs Oz only had to hear the name and she has been asking me to bring them. I have them on my lists - as with turkey geese. Guinea fowl , peafowl and even emu.

I did a lot of reading on raising quail and will definitely explore the market.the growth rates are appealling.

Its for the same reasons I am trying to warm my wife to bunnies.

I will be going to my first BYC meet up this weekend in San Diego County.

I cant believe just how crazy a chicken man I have become.

I just finished reading this entire thread. I thought a person would need a permit to bring eggs into a country. . . I guess
the laws in the Philippines are more lax.

You'll need to include some Easter Eggers in your next hatch. I only have a few as I'm specializing in Swedish Flower Hens.
However, my EE's are by far my best layers of big eggs (blue, green, brown, beige).

Your wife has got to be an amazing woman. I have three adopted children and know the anxieties of dealing with the court
system. Hope it winds up soon for you so you can bring your babies home.

Look forward to meeting you at the San Diego meet up.

I've done a bit of reading and it looks like it's not as bad as you think to import to the US even. Just expensive! I want Croad Lanshams and was curious to see if I could get eggs from England. I'm not sure if you could just put them in carryon here though!

I think I put in their somewhere that I got a agricultural release to transport the eggs from manila to Bacolod. There are requirements but you can set up quarantine on your location and a vet draws blood on the chicks after they hatch. Currently my chicks are in an isolated out building.

I also vaccinated them for mareks and will put NCD vaccine in their water next week. I will wait to do pox vaccination until I get back as it requires dome technique. I would hate to he wiped outburst a preventable illness.

I have added blue egg makers to the list. I am in discussion with a local OC batorholic that is doing a autosexong project with creme legbars. I will try to get some EE as well.

So many breeds and such a small golf bag.

Transporting in a carry on is the most practical as you have control of their journey. The complicated part can be the paperwork. The philippines is much easier than others. It really depends on the country pairings. USDA website has some info.

People like greenfire farms do it regularly so it can be done going this way.
