The chickens hatch so differently than quail. Quail mostly pip to hatch in 1 to 3 hours and within 12 hours start to finish. Chickens like to drive me to the edge.

Ah the long drawn out hatch. Got to love it hahahaha "Does it need help or do I fog up the window some more".

I set a "buddy hatch" with Oz (hey - the eggs were fertile so what is a gal to do????) and looks like 12 of the Legbars are out. I only see 2 lonley girls in a sea of boys. Let's hope all the girl eggs went to the Phills!! They have to be somewhere!

Just Love that you can sex them before you even take them out of the bator !!!

When I started this madness, I would have never expected the support I have received. I came on to this site to get info and test ideas. Peoples enthusiasm for my adventure continues to amaze me.

OffGridMama, HillFlowerRanch, LePetiteFarmer, Phage, Kev, LaPalmaChicks and Perchie Girl have all given me tangible assistance but the intangible support through messaging, shout-outs and posts here have really made this fun.

Hopefully this hatch will be the last big haul. I will just take over a few doz eggs each trip to build on what we have. We added at least 5 breeds with enough numbers to get them reproducing. The pressure is off,

I should get a text this afternoon with the total of chicken eggs that hatched. Its going to be a past half way into day 22. I will have Bernie add the pheasant eggs but keep the chicken eggs in for a day more just in case.
