Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

No blues or greens today, but Sally Strutters is paying for her feed! I'm sorry, I know this is old hat for you guys, but we are SO excited!!

And Piglett, DANG, that is one huge rooster!!! He's like half the size of your wife!!!

I still get excited over eggs.

The girls have been unpredictable to say the least. The weather is all over the place here. high 50s one day, 20s the next... it's throwing them off a bit. We're rationing eggs at this point. We normally eat 3 a person, this morning we ate 1.... since we only had a few left. Imagine my excitement when I found 5 eggs in the box.

Momma is havin' eggs tomorrow!

You can always go with a town name, name of a river, ocean... whatever landmark is close to y'all. Bress without e sounds like breast.

we grow our roosters large up north here
thinking about adding another window so his girl friends will give up more than 1 egg a day

They both look good in their yellow sweaters.

Bernie's bike was registered - it was his license - and he previously had a license so it was just a renewal. I guess it was great excuse to ride over the mountain. Mrs Oz is doing that today on a bus. Hers is a 6 hour ride there, a 2 hour meeting and then a 6 hour ride back.
i don't mind a motorbike for short trips but more than 30 min. away i know my bottom will be hurting

I have to ask, what is he? ( I know that he is big and an off yellow/orange, but?)
BTW Nice pic of your DW in snow!!
Scott
he is a buff orpington from a part english line
unlike most hatchery stock he is full size
i have 5 or 6 more just like him
very calm birds & good for the table too

I like a calm bird, even better if they are big and good eating!!
Are you selling eggs?

Scott
i just removed my muscovy ducks from their coop
things were rather crouded
my buff orpington hens didn't feel much like laying after their fall molt (stress)
i hope to have some to sell soon now that they have some room
heck OZ might even get his eggs that i promised him
i know he has buffs but he doesn't have these as far as i know

he has filipino relatives. i mean the roo, not piglet - but the statement applies to both. lol

piglet was very kind and added eggs to my project.

the buff pullets in these pics came from new hampshire. The lemon cuckoo roo is from elsewhere
