Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

cryptic...

Personally I dont diaper chickens.

We used Costco or Huggies bought on Amazon Prime Subscription for our kids. Re-usables cause too much irritation unless you are prepared to change them constantly every hour

They stopped using diapers

My momma did the whole cloth diaper thing with us kids. I don't see the point. The amount of water wasted and bleach used cleaning the darn things can't be that much better for the environment than a disposable.

I'm a Pampers gal. I tried other brands, but they suck. I can't stand crinkly diapers. Or the kind where I pull the tabs off when I pull too hard x_x

Drugstore.com is my friend. Hello economy bulk packaging!

My step-son was in Pull ups until he was 4ish. That one was rough. Got to a point that they just didn't have a size bigger than 4-5T. When he learned he couldn't go to pre-school if he didn't straighten out his crap (pardon the pun) he learned REAL fast. He's gonna be 6 in April and is still a bedwetter if I give him anything to drink past dinner time and/or don't wake him up to go to the bathroom at 10 or so.

I expect my son to take just as long to potty train, if not longer. We'll see.

*sigh*

Chickens are much easier to care for. But you can't spank a chicken or put them in time-out, if they're bad. The best you can do is give them a stern talking to and have them look at you like you're batty... much like my kids.

I cloth diapered three kids... In the city. Moved to the stickz and could no longer keep up with laundry :/ so baby #4 was a huggies baby... I did save tons of money, its not as hard as back in the day, and bleach is a no-no :) im pretty laid back and think everyone has to do what works best for your family. It worked for us :)

Ok back to Chickens ..Lol

Sunday was a not so good day at the beach.

Bernie went to bed on Saturday with a painful knee and had trouble sleeping. On Sunday morning its hot, but not red, swollen and cannot weight bear on it.

I am not an expert on knees, but joint injuries give me some concern. I told him to rest for the next three days with his knee elevated, take Ibuprofen 800mg every 8 hours with food and ice packs.

My resident advanced practice nurse is unavailable to consult so If its remotely hot on Monday, I will send him to a doctor.
Right move Sir Oz. The immediate home remedy is R.I.C.E. (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation). Compress or wrap with elastic bandage & elevate knee above heart when lying down or sitting. Turmeric is a good anti-inflammatory & pain reliever. 1 capsule of 500mg 3x a day.

what show are you at?
The fresno show....sorry bit late but funny story...had to stay in hotel and of course no pets rule. We'll 7Am this morning the frigging roo starts crowing in the hotel room! Lol snuck him down the stairs and into the car till we checked out. Talk about a wake up call! Had my story prepared if anyone commented on hearing a rooster crow.. my response would have been..."so you were dreaming about cocks eh??!" LMAO
