So jealous! We've been expecting babies in the feed store here since Monday... but their shipment is delayed. Probably will be Thursday until they'll have some. I need babies!

Got a surprise this morning when I woke up
I went to clean out the egg shells from the bator and almost tossed a pipped egg with a chick in it. I tapped the egg and it tapped back and chirped. I shoved it Back in quick hope it's ok but I'm shocked that will make seven chicks. But do I remove the othe other fluffed out ones or leave them in there until I get home tonight?

AND, here I was thinking you wanted fluffly butted little chicks. What do I know?

Honestly, any babies will do. I told my husband he's going to come home one day to me having built a nest out of kittens. But yes, chicks would be good.. too early for the human variety

From what I gathered you take them out when they're dry. Ofcourse, I also read that the chirping will encourage the other babies to come out and play.

I would leave them so it isn't lonely when it hatches.

As long as it is safe and there isn't any way they can get into trouble.

Hill this is where I am weird... as soon as I see a dried chick I add grow gel in a little cap, just a little, even a soda cap is fine! Remember those chicks are waking up the other chicks, and until you have time to float test them or investigate I would leave them in. Not gonna hurt them, you have a tad lower temp for hatch right? I typically go 98.5 to 99
