Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

Our water tank tower lost its 5.5 year battle with the cancer of rust.

Despite trying to maintain it, the disease was just too powerful.

The tower became too weak to even climb to save the tank.

Bernie solicited the road works guys widening the road out the fron to use their toys to assist

It will be remembered.
Did Bernie use chickens or fresh eggs as bribe/payment?
I'll bet OSHA is having fits just looking at that top Pic. WTG Bernie!!

the fee was cold hard cash

worth it though - the tank is worth about $400 so the $18 to get it down was a bargain.

When Bernie said there was a machine working out the front that could help getting the tank down - i was expecting a linesman hoist type thing, when i saw the pic of bernie riding a bucket. i just shook my head.

27 went into lockdown

12MD update
24 hatch
3 Zipping

So there you go.Its almost as if I made this up. I have actually driven poor Bernie crazy with updates for the last month as I plotted the hatches. There is both an art and science to hatching. As this is the 11th hatch since Jan 28, we are mastering both aspects.

100% will be great. Here is hoping.

ETA - 34 were set. 7 were culled at 10 days. Most of these eggs are pullets first few eggs.

You've cracked the code! Way to go!

We have a pig with scours that has been offerred electrolyte water ever hour all night but she is not really interested. Its been 14 hrs so i am hoping it will be resolved soon. Its amazing how quickly you can lose a pig from diarrea. Bernie will be nursing

Aljay will be sowing marigold seeds..

Lock down today on another 30 eggs
