Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

400

Not chicken related but super exciting!!!

Eeeek!!! So freakin AWESOME!!! You rock my friend!!!

Mrs Oz had a load that was a tad long for her trailer - she drove about a mile on a straight road with it

the kids dont want to wait for my return to finish their "goat house"

the tankal (piggery) is progressing

it will double in length on this side but I wanted to get the first three 12x8 pens done ASAP as pigs 1-3 are outgrowing their small pen.

the second phase will be a 3 more 8x12 pens on the right side, The open section on the left will become the farrowing area with three crates and then the boar pen

we will be able to grow two batches of ten weaners to market size and pick future gilts from tthe growers.

the new canna and dahlia beds

I have ordered 8 cubic meters of large river rock (the same size as in the photo with the bamboo on the trailer) at 12 dollars a meter delivered to use as borders. we have access to the truck on sundays. this sunday will be construction size gravel, 20 more bamboo lengths and 40 sacks of rice husks

dusk on the beach. I wish I was there

awesome oz! I wish I was there too! so beautiful!! I adore the kiddos!
Yes it is, specifically during sunset. Cauayan has the best beach in all of the shoreline towns of Negros Occidental. During the months when the sea is calm it's nice to swim early in the morning on a crystal clear sea water. When low tide comes you can walk at far distance on fine sand with occasional pool of sea water where you can see some small fishes or crabs in it.

indeed rolito

my kids are on the beach at dawn every day. they swim, collect shells, flotsam and crabs

often the afternoons are a little rougher but the kids handle the waves well. all those swimming lessons come in handy

Oz what are ur plans once the adoption is finalized. Do u think the farm will be ok?

The plans are to move back to the USA for a few years then re-evaluate. We may end up in Australia as its has better overall education at a better price. I personally could live anywhere in the world. I just want the best opportunities for my family.

The farm will be OK. I am sure it will go through good and bad times but I will continue to nurture it and make it a success. I will always find ways to get over there to check on it.
