Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

Lumber quality has been getting rough in the past few years... It's pitiful what you can pull off a brand new pallet of 2x4s. Quality is one of those things that gets tossed out the window to keep low prices. The Wal-Mart effect.

If you can't drill and can't nail, isn't it too hard to cut for dovetail construction? Or you cut it when still wet?
thats what carbide tipped routers are for

i hate stores that keep their lumber in a heated building

that's the worst place in the world for lumber that hasn't sat for a year yet

they do dry kiln it, but that's just not as good as air drying

i have some 42" wide northern white pine planks that are round edge

i'm thinking coffee tables

lumber that wide is really tough to find even way up here in NH

i'll make a couple & if they sell i'll make more

i have the whole butt log that's 10" long sitting out back all stuck & ready to go

i put an order in with my buddy the duck man for mahogany to build a Balinese Bale or Gazebo to build near the beach front fence

ours will be 14x14 with a triple roof and a crown as well as gargoyles on the corners

Mrs Ox picked up the roof extras when she was in Bali two months ago

It wont start until next year but its time to harvest the trees from his plantation

we were using an area that had been booked by somebody.

they were concerned that we were taking too long to clear and called park services who called animal control.

no permits to sell chickens i am told
Yup that bout sums it up! Execept the snot nosed diaper laden kid that threatened to call the cops if we had a problem. We didn't but has made for all kinds of fun chat on California poultry people Facebook page! Lol no big deal but we've decided next group photo will be us in a lineup with our monopoly get out of jail free cards pinned to our chest!!

It appears that we have a humidity problem.

Aljay/Bernie did not tell Dominic about the dehumidifier.

it shutdown because it was full aprox ten days into hatch.

I started working backwards because the local control eggs were so slow to hatch when they are normally so predictable
