Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

All checked in and in the lounge 90 mins before the flight This has to be a record for me. Normally they are paging me to the plane as I am bolting through TSA.

I have to complement the improvements done - its long over due.

A girl that used to work withe me in Anaheim quit her job and is travelling through Asia with her boyfriend. They flew into Manila today and are travelling with me to Bacolod on Friday. While I sort out the farm over the weekend the weekend, they will go diving south of us. We will meet up again and travel over to Dumaguete. It rather unusual to have guests.

T-75 mins
Safe travels, Oz! There's a tropical cyclone passing through Negros Island in a few hours. I hope your family and farm are safe.

Wishing all a very happy Thanksgiving. If traveling, stay safe! Have fun and don't eat yourselves into a coma (easier said than done)

I cooked myself into a coma instead.

I slept too long, I meant to get up at 7. Got the turkey in the oven at 8:30, darn thing was still partially frozen (10lbs, in fridge since Sunday.. you'd THINK it be thawed out).

Step-son helped with the cooking, which at 6 years old isn't all that much help, but I hope he learns as we go. Kids are a lot more likely to eat things if they helped cooking it. No difference here. He actually ate a big chunk of turkey, had seconds of baked mac 'n cheese, ate 3 pieces of cranberry (from a can) and had seconds of sweet potato pie. Not bad at all, considering last year he ate a potato. Yes, one potato. Baked.

Thomas ate baked potato and sweet potato pie (asked for more whipped cream three times.. he's not supposed to have dairy, but who the heck can say no to that?)

It's 1pm and the turkey bones are already simmering on the stove, leftovers are in the fridge and half the dishes are washed. Maybe I should get out of my PJs now....
