Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

one of the "joys" of preschoolers is that they bring home all sorts of bugs.

every now and then one gets me. today I have a raging fever and feel like I have been hit by a bus. I make just lock myself in the bedroom once Mrs oz drops the kids and nannies off at the bus station and turn the AC on high.

Manang Soonie, Lorenzo's nanny made a freezer full of papaya and calimansi juice "agogo" sorbet tubes and squeezed a couple of hundred calimansi for juice so I am loading up on vitamin C.

Bernie is off and Dodong is on his 10th wheelbarrow load of debris from the beach.

our next door neighbors are burning the debris from queenie and ruby and it has turned into a smoke out.

the commuting construction guy had a binge yesterday so he did not show up for work. the local guy is completing the eucalyptus rails for the bamboo palings. We were expecting delivery of 120 new palings yesterday but things got messed up by the storms. the sugar cane truck we use for deliveries from kabankalan is back hauling cane so we may have to do several loads with the trailer later in the week.

The construction guys are day laborers but one commutes 20km so will often spend the night. he was sleeping in the playhouse when we weren't here until we put a stop to it.
I have never seen people who would just lay down on a steel deck of a ship & fall rite to sleep till i went to the Philippines

All is well at my inlaws place

OZ thank goodness things are back to your normal chaotic life. A good night's sleep - if possible does wonders when kids bring home a bug.

I am glad all is OK piglett. it was looking like a direct hit on sibuyan for a bit.

pinoys can sleep anywhere. a ship deck is no problem. my staff have the luxury of high density foam mattresses.

our guest bed has a 12" thick pillow top mattress we put in a container five years ago. we use a 6" foam mattress with 2" of memory foam on top. we like it so much we could not sleep on the thousand dollar mattress when it arrived.

you guys went silent!

I thought my internet was out all together lol.

its going to be hot today. not a cloud in the sky above us.

Bernie got back at 6. the construction guys had the miter saw cutting pusog bamboo at 610.

Lillian is preparing breakfast. scrabbled eggs, calabasa squash, spicy tuna and of course, rice.

Dodong is raking debris.

the only person not working is me. I need to get moving as soon as breakfast is over.

the kids have a recital in Bacolod Wednesday afternoon. I was planning to take the cull pigs to the market at 3am Thursday but will have to wait a week.

we are on piglet watch all week. the first of the two sows is due Thursday.

We are cleaning up debris here too but it is called autumn. Every week it is back again. Neighbors also feel compelled to smolder it W are very happy to have some air filters which help and provide white noise at night
