Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

we started naming our coops after islands in the Philippines

i don't think we will run out of names with just over 7000 on the list at high tide

one of our meat goats attacked my wife

(he wanted to get in the feed room so he could help himself to the laying pellets)

she faught him them processed him for his trouble

the other met the same fate the following day

the big freezer is now full

we butchered two young muscovies today. they weighed 3.5 and 3.0 kg.

Dodong cooked "pato tin" a slow cooked casserole with tuba palm fermented alcohol, carrots potatoes and at least ten other ingredients. I am excited for dinner.

Bonus for excellent cook! Breakfast the other day sounded good also.

Pig, that's good. By the way, what is the traditional pinoy baby diet? Probably stuff in a jar is popular nowadays, but how was it before? Or was it just milk until the kid processes it's first chicken? :p

Well hello to everyone. This is a great diary. I've only managed the first 300 pages so far. But the campground my DH and I own is closed until Spring so I have a lot of free time to read.
We purchased this place a 2 years ago, at that time I had to sell off my flock. So I have been AWOL. This Spring I will have a flock again. I've already started my wish list.
Oz, we live in the Allegheny forest - 15 miles north of Warren PA, sound familiar?
I'm so happy to be back at BYC. The best people are here.
