It was a busy day at cocobeach

The gate was sanded and then given a few coats of polyurethane by Dodong. I really love the colors of mahogany. I have to replace the front doors on the house - I am trying to decide between teak, mahogany and acacia.

RJ and Joseph were back to complete the garage roof. Its a relief that the job is done. Thet finished out the day cleaning up all the debris they created around the place. We are taking a break from construction as we wait for the plans for the new workers' house to be aproved. Its a month until we get permits.

The piglets are 21 days. My fast growers are averaging 13.4 lb and target is 11.9 lb. We will wean in a week and even the smallest will be over the target of 15lbs. I have chosen the 4 gilt piglets we will grow out to select the 2 breeders from. Mama pigs are doing very well. They will get introduced to their new baby papa via a catheter a week from Thursday.

Bernie mixed feed - his monday job before delivery tomorrow. We are on a fortnightly schedule with the feed company. The goal is to not have any inventory over a month in my feed store.

Mrs Oz heads back to Bacolod tomorrow. Christmas vacation is over.

Speaking of reading - ("3 billion people in the world who can't read") I had the opportunity, among many other folks, to sponsor efforts to bring "Reading Rainbow' to every classroom. When their drive ended they had 105,000 backers. ,and have just announced the premiums will be going out to donors.

I'm not in a position to participate in good causes often - just don't have the extra $$$ like most of us nowadays. But, I believe Reading is the most important skill a child can learn. My parents and siblings were all avid readers. Thanks to Reading Rainbow and the "Paws and Read," programs in school my son become an avid reader as well.

Just think of the 300,000 BYC members from around the globe- we all have the ability to read. My son and I both contributed - we both watched Reading Rainbow and enjoyed Levar Burton taking us everywhere with the wonderful stories he read. Every child from every background should be blessed with the gift of reading.

Okay you may return to your regularly scheduled postings.

The printed tarps for the sandwich board - I still cant get over the fact that they were just $3.50 each

The mixed coop girls have kicked into high gear with egg production. I am 100 chicks in front so I put up an ad to sell.

The eating egg ban is lifted and we shall put up a sign after pigs are sold to sell eggs

The signs look great, Oz! Knowing what our costs are in screens and set-ups, that price is amazing!!

Awesome that the egg ban is over!!
