A big part of yesterday was spent sorting birds

We needed to seperate out all the 16 weekers that were sold and identify the 4-8 weekers in the brooders sold to make boxing up easier.

They board their plane tonight. Some will arrive in Manilla tonight, others in Samar in the morning.

They will get watermelon in the box to give them some fluids in transit.

8 boxes to board plane and a chick box for pick up in Bacolod.

Next shipments will go out in 2 weeks. I have 2 small sales thus far.

In between, to pigs were vaccinated with porcine pili - a prefarrow vaccine to keep piglets healthy by increasing immunity to e-coli. Two sows deliver in 6 weeks

We has a huge hatch yesterday. Mrs Oz is delivering hinges to complete the brooder as we are now full.

The bans apply to products from Vinh Long and Tra Vinh, Vietnam; Veneto, Italy; Ter Aar, Zuid-Holland, and Kamperveen and Utrecht City, the Netherlands.

Seems the Philipines are slow to catch on, The Netherlands battled avian influenza last fall. The areas mentioned had an outbreak in November, and it's under control. In the Netherlands they don't screw around with avian flu. I remember when I was a teen we had a big outbreak and every bird in a certain radius was screened and destroyed. Pets, zoos... everything.

They should worry more about the US, as Washington state is having issues in that department right now. Wild waterfowl is spreading it

Some folks on Facebook had their entire flock removed by the CDC.

that is an interesting thought. How do you locate all of the non commercial people keeping poultry? Most certainly wild birds will spread it. They are vectors for other things like west Nile virus

people who have chickens that die en-mass do the propper thing and report it.

then inspectors will go dor to door in that area.

China as i may have mentioned recently banned all imports from USA because of backyard birds in USA.

It took three hours and lots of photos to confirm the right birds in the right boxes but all our shipments for this week are loaded.

I should start a pin map of the places they go. It wont be long before I have sold birds all over the (Phils) - and dont worry - I am not concerned with them competing with me for a while.

I will just continue with new breeds.
