correctI thought splash to splash only gave you splash offspring, while splash to blue gave you splash and blue offspring. ??
I like how splash looks, but need black for what I have...
Oz, you need rain... bad... just not all at once... nice batch of chicks!
Have a question, or 2, please, Oz... I think it was you who mentioned copper sulfate in drinking water for algae/mold/fungi, yes? It is safe for egg/meat birds? And also, can it be paired with amprollium or no?
those are not the results i have been gettingcorrect
blue to blue= 50% blue, 25% black 25% splash
blue to splash = 50% blue, 50% splash
blue to black= 50% blue, 50% black
black to spash = 100% blue
black to black = 100% black
splash to splash = 100% splash
Its great in auto water lines. I dont give amprollium in water unless I have an outbreak of cocci but do mix it in my chick feeds. i would not mix with drugs as pH may effect them
1oz of copper sulphate and 1 cup of vinegar to 55 gallons of water does the trick
its also use to treat fungal infections
dissolve 1 oz copper sulfate and 1 tablespoon of vinegar into 15 gallons water.
Use either solution as the sole water source during the course of the disease outbreak.
Thank you! I have one group that was in a temp pen/coop for too long and we had a bad cold snap... was trying to keep them alive and think they got issues from mold/fungus... have them in a separate open-air coop now, and they are improving drastically... figured I'd give everyone the copper sulfate to be safe tho, as we have a lot of moisture here...
But my brooder group that just went outside I think have cocci, so was wondering if I should give them some amprollium instead of the CS, or if I could give them both at the same time...
I hate giving meds, or mixing them, but I do if it's needed... just not sure on these cuz all I've ever had to deal with is some mild cocci...![]()
i use amprollium as a prevention but treat with toltrazuril (baycox) if i get an outbreak. cocci can get out of hand fast so I would treat quickly. as you have amprolium give that first.

I sent Pig a PM on this because I didn't want to get off topic on Oz's thread, but since the discussion started, here's my two cents worth.
I, like Pig stated above, get different results. I know, I know, it should not be possible, but I get blue, self blue, lavender, and black along with splash chicks from my Ameraucanas. I have a splash rooster over a splash hen and two blue wheaten hens. Most of the chicks are splash.
I don't know what hatches from each hen because I do not segregate the eggs, but I get some interesting colors that are not supposed to happen..........
I dont mind the odd dally off topic - and I dont see this off topic. we have three breeds of BBS birds at cocobeachI sent Pig a PM on this because I didn't want to get off topic on Oz's thread, but since the discussion started, here's my two cents worth.
