This is the sow's first farrowing and we actually expected her to Farrow tonight or in the morning.Toto Ompoy had the day off but Ariel text him at 1pm with the first piglet. He came to the farm just now - after (3pm) and she had delivered 11. That's pretty fast for a gilt.

I am extatic as we will have our first keeper boar piglet along with 2 gilt piglets to keep for breeding
 
Indeed.

We have culled the mamas we were not happy with. Well all except pig 3 who deserves a second chance and will deliver friday.

The placenta delivered and all 11 have suckled from mama. We will trim their needle teeth and notch ears tonight then give iron inj tomorrow

Yes she is the second gilt to give us 10 or more piglets this year. Pig 2 also did well. I am hoping she does it again this week. Pig 3 is getting another chance as I don't think the issues were the pig but management. She is so broad in the shoulders, I want her to be successful.
