Some beautiful morning visitors here. It was only 2 degrees so I think everyone was cold and hungry. The King Parrots are around all the time, but the Rainbow Lorikeets are a rare visitor. xxxx M

Not so fast, I "know" a lady (only online) that had to attach whirlygigs and spikes to her bicycle helmet to keep the kookaburras from attacking her head when she was riding her bike... Apparently they are evil little things....

As a kid in Sydney, during spring we would have to wear a beer box on our head going to school because of the australian magpie. The became very territorial.

Thanks I will keep digging more. I would like to also try yo get it more sustainable hopefully so less purchasing.

Get lots of mosquitos and flies though haha. Crickets also. So there is some good food for them.

Swine seem easier toss them scraps lol.

Pigs are just like Birds, you get out of the critter what you put into the critter! lots of people feed birds scraps and only have so-so brids with so-so weight gain and so-so egg production, same thing with pigs.

As pigs are confined normally, you have to be careful with nutrition. Thry only get what you give them.

In saying that there are loads of foraging trees in thr phils

We have started mulberry cuttings, camonsil, ipil ipil, malunggay and jackfruit - all great nutritional sources for goats. Some coukd be used on swine and definitely on chickens.

Feedipedia.org is worth researching.

Azzolla, dulce de madre, duck weed are all good alternative feeds

Very true. Especially how they pen them up.
those plant names actually help alot as some we have and some we wanted to plant.

Wish the locals didnt kill off all the wild birds though.
