you can get them in California as they grow rice here. I think there are also some ruice grown in the south. @perchie.girl has bought them

I buy rice husks by the bale here.
They are great for the young chicks.

For me it was like reading All Creatures Great and Small by James Herriot...

mmm I was having more of a movie thought..... Neverending Story... especially the part at the end where he is reading a book alone in the dark and talking/shouting/screaming along with the story.

and now i burst into song...."Reach the stars ...Fly a fantasy...Dream a dream....And what you see will be..."

Anyway.. I have now learnt a heap of things that I would never have learnt and feel somewhat lost now that my bed time will have to be earlier. lol

as for photos... the tshirt printing business is what I am in and I made myself a tshirt last week that has my town community giggling




I am trying to get more people in my town to keep chickens. Our bylaws state we are allowed 4 hens and no rooster... I can deal with that. Only had my girls a few months so am new to this but i am TOTALLY LOVING IT!

Finally let them free range on the weekend (once i made sure my border collie and jack russell were not going to go chasing them)
The result.... my favourite favourites... in one photo... excuse the filthy 3 yr old feral child (charlie) but this is summer in Africa. such a hard life ..... lol
