Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

Oh, my... wow... :th

Sounds like I owe you a lot more eggs, lol... I am hoping production rises again in time for your upcoming trip, but am not holding my breath... I don't want to do supplemental light either, so will let you know how it goes...

Just googled "DL". I was totally wrong

I was curious so i googled... this is what i got "a class of diesel locomotives built by Clyde Engineering;" dont know what you guys have against using a new zealand locomotive to transport your goods from state to state....

The goats are doing well.

I have to say its exciting getting twins. This is our third batch but also its out 3rd batch in 4 deliveries.

Adding the Nubian blood along the way as well is good nutrition has optimized our chances of multiple births.

The new guy is Saanen 44% Nubian 31% Boer 6% Native 19%

We are expecting one more delivery with the same mix and another that will be Saanen 44%, Nubian 21% Boer 16% Native 19%. We should see them in the next two weeks.

It takes a good spread sheet to keep track!

Then in Feb we will have three more goats deliver.

After Easter we will start looking for a pure dairy goat buck - probably Nubian but I also have a lead on a Toggenburg.

The generation should be milkable,

Our 2 "least dairy" - Boer 20% Nubian 30% Native 50%. Will be culled in Summer after they deliver and wean. The remainder I am going to try and carry on the farm for another round. I want to get my money's worth out of Chabichou. By the end of 2016 we should have the CocoDairyGoat Farm with 6-10 does with 92+% milking goat blood. In the meantime, we shall enjoy a spot of goat curry.
