A lechon pig is ideally 45lbs. A good grower will hit that in 58 days. A slow fellow maybe 70 to 75

I posted my little pig spreadsheet with a pedigree on FB and it went nuts. I am keeping the best three females but got lots of inquiries wanting them. Normal price is 2300 for a 7kg piglet ($50 for 15lb) but I sold the smallest of the girls for 3500 ($76) and could have easily sold the bigger girls for $90 as breeders, If I did not castrate the lads the could have also gone for $80 as weaners.

I guess our piggies have a market!!! There is a shortage of purebred Landrace and as most dont use inter-island semen, ours are of particular interest,

So lets pray to the god of lechon for lots aod girls and a couple of monster boys with every delivery.

We have 2 more pure landrace gilts to breed and the three mixed. The goal will be to replace the mutts with pure landrace and build up to 9 sows in our 4th generation of AI.

Our young boar is in training. He will have his first official collection Jan 2 in an attempt to service Pig 20.

The boar's is officially known as CSF-040 but due to the orange in his part duroc skin, he has been dubbed Trumpy after that very special presidential aspirant.

Hopefully our Trumpy wont fizzle out in the end.
