Processed 8 cockerels on Saturday, made my first fried chicken today and looking for a good adobo recipe for Wednesday. I have not made it before but it sounds good.

pig 13 was culled today. we tried to heal her lame foot with dexamethasone but no response. we with held for 10 days then sold her

pig 15 was successfully AI'd on December 16. she is due April 8

pig 17 18 and 19 and were AI'd on Jan 6 and will be due April 28

pig 20 were AI'd on Jan 2 and is due on April 24

pig ear tag 21 disappeared

pigs 22,23 and 24 are 7 weeks old.

goats 111, 112 and 113 are very pregnant. they will deliver in the next 30 days

I get bi-weekly photos of our Nubian Buckling. we wont pick him up for 8 more weeks.

the ear tag disappeared not the bloody big!! my guess is it was played with and lost or pocketed,

Pig 13 had a tender foot for months, It was reported to me by dodong but I presumed it was better, When Syrell came he was told I knew. Mrs Oz noticed it and sent me a video.

It did not look broken, There was no splitting of the hoof, The dew claw was OK, but she could not solidly weight bear on it.

She also had a miscarriage at 2.5 months a while back. I wanted to see if we could heal her foot before pregnancy but could not. It was time to cut our losses.

The current buck will continue to service the current does and produce a 75% dairy breed kid. The next generation will be serviced by the new buck to get us to 88% dairy and at that stage we should have pretty decent stock.

We will convert Mozza's corral into a duplex for the bucks and start keeping them separate, With one its not a problem but as we are getting bigger in the goat dept (the lack of mozza = more grass) we will end up with maybe 16 does until we finally get to a dairy herd of 8-10 nice milkers that will allow us to produce dairy products all year round. Its better to control breeding and get a better handle on due dates.
