getting them to use the nest boxes

Our experience with our first flock of chickens was near perfect.
We are now on our second flock of chickens...they are about 5 1/2 months old and we are starting to see eggs. But the eggs are being laid outside the henhouse in the run. The nest boxes are up in the henhouse. We didn't have this problem with the first flock. How can I get them to lay in the next boxes? Ever since I put a new roosting log outside in the run, they hardly even go in the henhouse. See pics on my page if you need to see the set-up.

i had the same problem at first try putting an egg or two in each box so they no where to go ............ worked for me
