I ordered chicks from Cackle Hatchery that were supposed to be hatched out on Wednesday, and arrive here this morning. There are no chicks to be found at the post office! They never arrived. This is the first time we've ordered chicks, so now I'm getting afraid they are all sitting in a box and will arrive DOA tomorrow. I've been trying to call the hatchery all morning but the phone is always busy. A friend suggested that maybe the problems with the airlines is delaying the mail. Will my chicks arrive alive tomorrow? Why can't I get in touch with the company? Anyone else receive an order from Cackle today?

I would contact the post office and see if they can track it. Do you have a tracking #? Often packages just go missing between point A and point B, and there isn't much anyone can do until they arrive. But I think calling does put a little pressure on and seems to ease things through the system (don't ask me how, if they can't really track packages worth a darn).

So long as someone at your post office knows you are concerned, they will probably be very good about helping you and calling you right away when they do arrive.

I juat read another post where their chicks did not come to the post office either, however their post office called the distribution center to see if the chicks were there. There was a late flight in and when the chicks got there, the distribution center called the person's home to tell them. They drove 2 hrs. to pick their chicks up there. Hope you get them tomorrow.

I have placed an order with Cackle too, and they are VERY difficult to get a hold of.

Just keep trying by hitting re-dial. I usually have to play the re-dial game for 10 to 15 minutes, but eventually I get through. Good luck with it and please let us all know how this comes out.

Thanks for your replies. I still haven't heard anything. I'm just really hoping that they arrive alive. My kids would be crushed (and so would I!!) if they didn't. It would be a very sad day in our household. I have been trying all day , at least once every 15 minutes to get a hold of Cackle. I stopped into the post office, but they hadn't heard anything. I guess we just have to wait and see. Cheep Mama, do you remember which post you heard that someone else had to drive to the distribution center for? I'd like to contact them to find out if they are on the east coast as well.

HI Again!! I found the post about the distribution center and it was from ridgefire titled "look what I got". Hope they come tomorrow.
